Loreto House, on Middleton Row and sister school to St Xavier's are the most prestigious schools in Kolkata. As a child, the designer was in awe of the uniforms and absence of visible minorities to differentiate the students. She envied them, as differences from her own peers were usually too great. Eventually, the designer grew to embrace her differences and her pleasant memories are honored here. Modeled after the school colors, her hope in bringing work to less fortunate artisans in Kolkata is for their children to one day wear these prestigious uniforms.
